Switching to the vesa driver will prevent this, but only allow a very low resolution display.

I have a circa Dell Dimension with the G chipset that I really wanted to install Linux on for a client, and was about to give up – esp. But if you are proposing it as a solution, what advantage do you get from Windows ijtel in XP compatibility over XP Native?
82845f Intel G Graphic controller is not supported by Win The g doesn’t seem to work well in any Linux distro. Intel has both bit and bit Windows 7 drivers on their website for your video card.

I’ll give it a shot. I have gone to Intel and they don’t show a driver for Windows 7. Not particularly Stellar performance but it works.

Can I just go out and buy a new video card? Make sure when you insert the new card that the onboard graphics is disabled in the BIOS to prevent gfx card conflicts. Are you just messing around with it and have found it to be true?
