I have a BCM wireless card, and I used this guide to set up wireless with ndiswrapper. Then I installed the bcm drivers again. He asked to be moved off of XP and onto Ubuntu. Yeah, that looks good PSK tun0 Interface doesn’t support scanning.

I tried to use ndiswrapper, but can’t get it working. The problem is, in order to axer a new network manager, I would have to remove the previous one, which I am not that much eager to do I use this laptop for work and stuff.
The workaround is to turn adapter off and on, or run as root iwconfig ethX essid x mode managed and reattach to the network.

I really, really want to dump Windows Vista as a dual boot, but with a flakey wireless, am kind of hesitant. Hi, trying to get this Broadcom card to work, on a acer aspire with latest feisty and no joy.

I double-checked with lspci. It’s a bit difficult to know where to turn, partly because the damn aver for the wifi is always on, period. I did this to fix it: My only problem now is that I need to turn the Acet switch off then on after every boot to connect. Does anybody know what is going on? If not, do all the steps, I’ve tried Compwiz18’s procedure several times without result.
